Westmont Magazine Westmont Fund Goal Achieved
For the sixth straight year, the Westmont Fund has reached its goal. Thanks to generous donations from alumni, parents, friends, and foundations, the college raised nearly $1.8 million in annual giving during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2001.
“It’s encouraging to see the level of support for the Westmont Fund gifts continue to be strong,” says Steve Baker ’84, vice president for development. “Annual giving is the foundation of our fund-raising program, and we greatly appreciate the response we have received from the college’s constituency.”
While the number of alumni donors grew by six percent, the college continues to seek an increase in the alumni giving rate. Overall, 25.5 percent of alumni supported Westmont financially, with 33.5 percent of graduates making gifts. The alumni giving rate is one statistic used to rank the quality of Westmont’s program in publications such as U.S. News & World Report.
