Westmont Magazine A Winning Plan

For the third time in four years, a Westmont student business plan reached the national semifinals of the Midwest Enterprise Creation Competition co-sponsored by Ball State, Miami University in Ohio, Beacon Capital, NASDAQ, Ernst & Young, and Monument Advisors.

Serenity Water, a proposal to sell a non-carbonated, fruit-flavored, bottled water with vitamins and other healthy enhancements, won Westmont’s 11th Annual Collegiate Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition in December. Students Corey Blick, Matt Cook, Jennifer Steinberg and Aaron Brunette developed the winning plan.

The other semifinalists included Depaul University, Colorado State, Indiana University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Purdue University, University of Manitoba, Michigan University, and the University of Oregon. These institutions not only have business schools, but entrepreneurship centers as well.
